Abstract:
Das Ziel dieser Studie war es, die klinische Aussagekraft der Dual-Layer CT in der Diagnostik von Kopf-Hals-Tumoren im Vergleich zur konventionellen CT zu evaluieren. 39 Patienten mit histologisch nachgewiesenen Kopf-Hals-Tumoren wurden mittels Dual-Layer CT untersucht. Die Studie zeigt, dass Dual-Layer CT-Bilder konventionellen CT-Bildern in der Diagnostik der Tumore überlegen sind. Die Dual-Layer CT hat somit das Potenzial die Betreuung von Patienten mit Kopf-Hals-Tumoren zu verbessern.

The aim of the study was to evaluate the quality of the dual-layer CT for diagnosis of head and neck cancer in comparison to conventional CT-imaging. 39 patients with histologically proven head and neck cancer were examined using the dual-layer spectral CT. The study shows that dual-layer spectral CT images were superior to conventional CT images for diagnosis of head and neck cancer. The dual-layer spectral CT has the potential to improve the care of patients with head and neck cancer.
