Vertigo and Dizziness (VD) are common symptoms which lead to severe impairment of the affected in daily life. In general, structural VD syndromes are distinguished from functional VD syndromes. The latter cannot be fully explained by a specific organ pathology due to the extent and nature of complaints. At the same time, physicians often experience the interaction with patients with those functional somatic symptoms as difficult. This thesis aimed to investigate correlations between the quality of the doctor-patient-relationship, the type of VD syndrome and the patient-outcome. This was done on a cross-sectional (n=321) and longitudinal base (n=260) at a highly specialized center for VD.
