The application of mass selective laser spectroscopy on cold chiral molecular systems was realized by combining multiphoton ionization in a supersonic beam with time of flight mass spectrometry. Vibrationally resolved wavelength spectra of cyclopentanone, 3-methylcyclopentanone and their fourfold deuterated isotopologues were recorded. Circular dichroism laser mass spectrometry was performed by ionization with circularly polarized light. This concept, which is known from the application in an effusive beam, was transferred to the supersonic beam and anisotropy factors of cold R-(+)-3-methylcyclopentanone were determined.
