Diese Arbeit untersucht prospektiv die linksatriale Funktion bei Patienten mit hochgradiger Mitralinsuffizienz, die sich dem MitraClip-Verfahren unterziehen. Die linksatriale Funktion wurde prä- und postprozedural echokardiographisch untersucht und ihr prognostischer Nutzen evaluiert. Bei einem Großteil der Patienten (58%) konnte 3 bis 6 Monate nach MitraClip Implantation eine Verbesserung der linksatrialen Funktion erreicht werden. This prospective observational study evaluates left atrial function and its prognostic impact in patients with severe mitral regurgitation undergoing MitraClip procedure. Echocardiographic assessment was performed before and after MitraClip implantation. Most of the patients (58%) showed an improvement of left atrial function in the echocardiographic assessment three to six months following MitraClip implantation. Additionally, change in left atrial function following MitraClip implantation was found to be an independent predictor of all-cause mortality.     «
