In this thesis, the effects of solvent additives on the device stability are investigated on the lower bandgap polymers (PTB7-Th and PffBT4T-2OD) based solar cells. The studies are based on combining grazing incidence X-ray scattering measurements and current-voltage tracking simultaneously. The results suggest that the escaping of residual solvent additives leads to a BHJ morphological degradation. Moreover, solvent additives can affect the interpenetrating network of BHJ film and the polymer crystallinity.
