Although the prognosis of patients after stem cell transplantation improved, there is a serious need for faster diagnosis and therapy of complications. Statistical evaluation of 298 emergency presentations of transplant patients in a German University Hospital was performed retrospectively (01/2006-07/2013). Early and specific treatment of complications like feverish infections or pneumonia improves the outcome and reduces mortality rates. Thus, further training and education of medical staff is highly important.     «
