In the present thesis, the use of formular devices as a treatment option for the metabolic syndrome (MetS) was examined in a 12-month multi-center, randomized intervention study.
In particular, a possible added value of the formula product was validated against a purely educational therapeutic approach.
Overall, the use of a formula diet as part of a lifestyle intervention has been shown to have a sustained positive influence on the MetS factors as well as on the secondary metabolic and anthropometric parameters.
