Despite the proven benefits of an involvement of family members in the psychiatric-psychotherapeutic treatment, implementation in routine care is still insufficient. In order to identify possible reasons for this situation, we investigated the attitude of 1430 mental health professionals from different professional groups using a questionnaire. Additionally, barriers and favourable aspects towards an improved involvement were identified. An exploratory analysis pointed out factors that influenced the attitude towards relatives.
