The aim of this study was to correlate the data of pulse wave analysis from a cohort of renal insufficient patients and a cohort of kidney transplant patients to present cardiovascular risk factors. Additionally the data was correlated to stages of chronic kidney disease in the cohort of renal insufficient patients. In both cohorts, the augmentation index rose with an increase in cardiovascular risk factors. In the cohort of renal insufficiency patients, there was a significant difference between the groups without or with one risk factor and the groups with two to four risk factors. In kidney transplant patients, the significant differences were less obvious. There was no correlation between the augmentation index and the stage of renal insufficiency.
