Multi-Spectral Optoacoustic Tomography is an emerging biomedical imaging modality evolving from proof-of-principle biological research towards its routine clinical application to complement established imaging modalities. In this work, novel video-rate reconstruction algorithms and image quality enhancement strategies for Multi-Spectral Optoacoustic Tomography are introduced. Further, initial experimental studies in the location of the finger show its potential for a routine clinical application in the field of prevalent peripheral vascular diseases.
