Abstract:
Background/Aims: Alcoholic liver disease is continuously increasing in developed countries being a leading cause of death worldwide. Chronic ethanol consumption induces oxidative stress by accumulation of reactive oxygen intermediates (ROI) while reducing the cellular antioxidant defense.
