Abstract:
The paper presents a study on the sensitivity analysis of squeeze film dampers for aircraft engine rotors. Sensitivity functions provide an information on derivatives of squeeze film damper performance characteristics in respect to damper parameters, i.e. design variables. Sensitivity analysis is used as a part of a gradient-based optimization as well as an independent tool to guide design engineer.
