- Ziel war es, den Einfluss der postoperativen Sexualität und erektilen Funktion nach Prostatektomie auf die Lebensqualität (LQ) zu untersuchen. Dafür wurden 358 präoperativ potente Prostatakarzinom (PC)-Patienten, 8-18 Monate nach OP, zu Ihrer gesundheitsbezogenen LQ anhand eines validierten LQ-Fragebogens sowie zu Sexualität/Partnerschaft befragt. Wir konnten zeigen, dass in der Gruppe der potenten/sexuell aktiven Patienten, altersunabhängig vor allem eine bessere globale LQ (Score: 82,1 vs. 67,8; p<0,001) und eine bessere soziale Funktionsfähigkeit (Score: 84,1 vs. 68,1; p<0,001) empfunden wurde, als in der Gruppe der Patienten mit erektiler Dysfunktion und inaktivem Sexualleben. Für sexuell aktive PC-Patienten jeden Alters ist die Berücksichtigung des Sexuallebens sowohl in der präoperativen Aufklärung und Therapieentscheidung als auch in der postoperativen Betreuung von erheblicher Relevanz.

- The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of postoperative sexuality and erectile function after radical prostatectomy on quality of life (QoL). 358 preoperative potent patients with prostate carcinoma were interviewed postoperatively, based on a validated QoL-questionnaire, about their health related QoL and sexuality/partnership 8-18 months after surgery. We present here, that independent of age the group of potent/sexual active patients perceived a better global QoL (Score: 82,1 vs. 67,8; p<0,001) and a better social functioning (Score: 84,1 vs. 68,1; p<0,001) than the group of patients with erectile dysfunction and inactive sexual life. We conclude that a thorough preoperative clarification/education about possible confinements in their sexual life, including information about postoperative therapy options and medical care, is of substantial relevance for treatment.
