A production system is used as case study of MSCs enriched with a connector construct intended to improve the design. The language of MSCs is further enlarged with the notion of variation points and variants in order to capture the evolutionary aspects of system family development. The design of the basic production system is based on earlier work and provides the initial core assets of the presented system family. Variations of the system are developed and incorporated into a family model that can be parameterised by the features for a specific product.     «
