The collection comprises papers which were presented at a workshop on PVM, MPI, tools, and applications at the Technische Universität München in summer 1995. A first important part is dedicated to the description of the current structure of PVM and to details on what will be included in future versions. A second part concentrates on the detailed presentation of on-line tools for PVM which are developed at LRR-TUM (Lehrstuhl für Rechnertechnik und Rechnerorganisation). Finally, results from using PVM are presented. Topics cover application fields of theorem proving, database development, computational fluid dynamics, and numerics.
