Part of the supplemental information is Supplemental Figure 1 and Supplemental Table 1. Figure 1 shows the systematic concept behind the study entitled "Exterior traits of milk-deprived and milk-fed calves as indicators for body condition or nutritional status" with the intention to clarify the level of data quality. The aim of the studies were to reduce possible indicators for practical use and further development. These steps written in black are included in the current study; the steps written in gray should be addressed in the future and are not part of the study. Supplementary Table 1 displays the scoring system (5 classes) for the health condition of the assessed calves in the study (adapted from Lowe et al. 2019; Kells et al. 2020; Kellermann et al. 2019).     «
