Cloud computing is a new deployment model for IT services, which is going to change the way organizations provision IT services substantially. As the market for cloud services grows, we investigate the challenges organizations face when purchasing cloud services. Based on current findings in organizational purchasing literature and a pilot case study analysing the cloud service purchasing process, this paper outlines a research framework which structures the influencing factors towards the design of purchasing processes for cloud services. Our findings contribute to purchasing practice and research by providing domain knowledge and the conceptualizing framework and foundation for further research.     «
