Microbeam radiotherapy (MRT) is promising for the treatment of aggressive tumors, however only applied in preclinical research. A clinical application of MRT requires a compact radiation source, for which relevant technologies were developed in this work by numerical simulations. Furthermore, microbeam treatment planning was made more realistic by multidirectional MRT, and the implementation of the equivalent uniform dose allowed treatment plan comparisons between MRT and conventional radiotherapy.
