The effect of caffeine combined with irradiation had been analyzed in various pre-clinical studies. In this thesis, two human ENT tumor cell lines XF354 and SAS have been used which differ significantly in their radiosensitivity. The cell survival after treatment with various doses of caffeine and irradiation has been investigated. As a result, a potentially radiosensitizing effect of caffeine has been shown on the cell line SAS, using caffeine doses between 0 and 2 mM and irraditation doses between 0 and 8 Gy.
