In this dissertation are two different and independent studies edited. The clinical study evaluates, by examining 50 patients the accuracy of leg alignment after high tibial osteotomy in open wedge technique and its effect on the tibial slope and the clinical outcome. The results showed an acceptable correction of the mechanical axis in 86% of the patients. The accurate correction of the mechanical axis correlated with the best clinical results. The experimental study evaluated the accuracy of a high tibial osteotomy computernavigation-system with a precision phantom. The study evidenced with a low deviation of 0,4° and below 2mm a high accuracy of the computernavigation-system.
