This study analysis the gestational age dependency of antepartal cardiotocography parameters in consideration of fetal behavioural states and the current DGGG guidelines (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe), furthermore the prognostic value of CTG scores applied to healthy fetuses compared with a risk collective. 161 CTGs of 106 patients were subdivided into 6 gestational age groups between 25th and 42nd weeks of gestation. CTG assessment according to DGGG guidelines, non stress test and Meyer-Menk score led to a high rate of false positive results, in particular in first term of pregnancy, mainly due to regular occurrence of decelerations as well as accelerations with lower amplitude between 25th and 33rd weeks of gestation. CTG analysis according to common criteria is not an ideal tool for the assessment of immature fetuses.
