In the course of a catamnestic analysis of the Department for psychosomatic medicine of the Harlaching Hospital, Munich, for the period 2000 to 2002, the efficacy and the stability of inpatient psychotherapies for depression, as well as relevant influencing factors, were examined. For this purpose the raised data during the clinic stay and the follow-up interval of 3 to 5 years of 135 patients with depressive disorders, was evaluated statistically and analysed.
In the present study, a significant improvement of the symptomatic and interpersonal problems, as well as the weight of pressure at the end of the treatment, could be detected, which also remained steady over the follow-up time.
As essential influencing factors for the obtained therapy success, gender, age and education of the patients as well as the support by relatives could be demonstrated.
