Abstract:

Aim of this work is the identification of type 2 innate lymphoid cells in two compartments (locally in the lung v.s. peripherally in blood), depending on seasonal influences and allergen immunotherapy in study participants with allergic rhinitis/asthma and healthy controls. We collected clinical data, sputum and blood samples from 58 participants and analyzed them using flow cytometry. The ILC2s, through their production of type 2 cytokines, can initiate and propagate an allergic reaction while also being suppressed through immunotherapy.
