- Abstract:
- Chronische Inflammation ist neben kardiovaskulärer Ereignisse einer der Hauptverursacher einer erhöhten Mortalität bei Hämodialysepatienten (HD). Wir konnten zeigen das IL 8 in vitro als proinflammatorisches Cytokin in HD-Männern eine stärkere biologische Potenz entfaltet, sowie auch klinisch mit einer erhöhten Mortalität bei HD-Männern assoziiert ist. Ein möglicher therapeutischer Angriffspunkt der chronischen Inflammation könnte die Dialyse mit medium-cut-off Membranen darstellen.
- Translated abstract:
- In addition to cardiovascular events, chronic inflammation is one of the main causes of increased mortality in hemodialysis (HD) patients. We were able to show that IL 8 as a proinflammatory cytokine in HD men develops a stronger biological potency in vitro, as well as clinically associated with increased mortality in HD men. Dialysis with medium-cut-off membranes could be a possible therapeutic target of chronic inflammation.
