- Catalytic applications of iron(II) N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) complexes in the oxidation of industrially relevant aromatic substrates and aldehyde olefination reactions are explored. Focus is laid on the optimization of the reaction conditions as well as the elucidation of the underlying reaction mechanisms.

- Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit werden katalytische Anwendungen von Eisen(II) N-heterozyklischen Carben (NHC) Komplexen in der Oxidation industriell relevanter aromatischer Substrate und der Aldehyd-Olefinierung untersucht. Dabei stehen sowohl die Optimierung der Reaktionsbedingungen als auch die Untersuchung der zugrundeliegenden Reaktionsmechanismen im Vordergrund.
