426282 primiparae and multiparae of the years 1998/1999 were analysed for pregnancy risks as noted in the national perinatal study catalogues A and B and correlated to the mode of delivery. 71,2% of all cases had a median of 2,2 pregnancy risk factors; 45 of 52 risk factors were associated with a reduced rate of regular vaginal deliveries. "Allergy" was the most common risk in 29,6% but without influence on the mode of delivery. When "status after caesarean section" is present, there is a risk of about 50% to have another abdominal delivery with following pregnancies. From catalogue A in primiparae "diabetes" had the highest rate of caesarean sections (23,8%), in multiparae "diabetes" (23,3%) followed "status after caesarean" (30,3%). These findings should be regarded during pregnancy consultation.
