- Das Protein Tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-1 (TIMP-1) ist ein multifunktionales Molekül, dessen Expression in zahlreichen entzündungs-assoziierten Erkrankungen hochreguliert wird und meist mit einer schlechten Prognose für die Patienten korreliert. In dieser Arbeit konnten neue Interaktionspartner, sowie neue zytokinische immunmodulatorische Signalfunktionen von TIMP-1 ermittelt werden, die das molekulare Verständnis über die krankheitsfördernden Eigenschaften von TIMP 1 verbessern könnt... »
- Translated abstract:
- TIMP-1 is a multifunctional protein, which is highly expressed in a variety of inflammation-associated diseases and correlates with a poor clinical outcome for patients. In this study, novel interaction partners as well as novel cytokinic signaling functions of TIMP-1 were identified, which could improve the molecular understanding of disease-promoting features of TIMP-1.
