Within the scope of this work, the conception and realization of a model room test bench for the investigation of the dynamic operational behaviour of space heating systems under close-to-reality conditions of building and climate are described. Special attention is paid to fundamental aspects and components that are used for the dynamic reproduction of the climatic factors affecting a building, outside temperature and solar radiation. In a further step, a reference heating system is developed and examined at the test stand. The operational behaviour and the energy consumption for heating under defined test conditions as well as the influence on the thermal comfort in the area are analyzed and presented.
