Abstract:
We report the application of reduced flavins in the photoreductive cyclization of barbituric acid derivatives. Optimization of the reaction conditions was performed with a novel reduced flavin that evades oxidation under air. Different electron acceptors were successfully employed. Orthogonal conversion of barbituric acid derivatives and reduction of O-methyl oximes which were resistant to samarium (II) iodide reduction demonstrate the additional utility of the novel reduced flavin method.

Wir berichten die Anwendung reduzierter Flavine in der photoreduktiven Cyclisierung von Barbitursäurederivaten. Optimierung der Reaktionsbedingungen erfolgte anhand eines neuartigen reduzierten Flavins, welches gegenüber Luft stabil ist. Verschiedene Elektronenakzeptoren wurden erfolgreich reduziert. Orthogonale Reaktionen von Barbitursäurederivaten und Reduktion von O Methyloximen, welche nicht mit SmI2 reagieren, demonstrieren die Nützlichkeit der neuentwickelten Methode reduzierter Flavine.
