Coinage metal chalcogenides offer promising application potential as thermoelectric materials due to their high ion mobility. Despite from these aspects, some of them show the intriguing capability of switching between p- and n-type semiconduction enabled by their highly dynamic structure chemistry. In this work, the first material with a pnp-switch directly at room temperature is assessed and utilized in a thermally controlled, one compound diode. The concept is verified using a second pnp-switching material, and a new series of coinage metal chalcogenides is developed.
