Non-invasive in vivo imaging of T cells to evaluate immune responses during immunotherapy is necessary to improve patient outcome. We have developed two single-domain antibodies (sdAb) to be used as pan T-cell tracers, targeting CD2 and CD7, to directly monitor and visualize T cells independent of the immunotherapeutic approach. In vivo application of 68Ga-labeled CD2- and CD7-sdAbs resulted in highly specific and sensitive visualization of adoptively transferred T cells and may represent an important technique to optimally guide immunotherapies and improve patient outcome.
