Field trial plots in winter barley, winter wheat, and winter oilseed rape were flown using an unmanned aerial vehicle, and hyperspectral measurements were made during the flights. PLS regression models were used to estimate stand densities, plant lengths, fungal pathogen infestations, and grain yields of the plots. Supplemental grain yield estimates were made using selected vegetation indices. Grain yields of winter barley could be estimated reliably and more accurately using the PLS regression models than using vegetation indices. The estimation of the other traits was not possible or only possible to a limited extent using PLS regression.
