The performance of Photovoltaic panels deteriorates due to high diurnal temperatures and nocturnal dew formation. In the present study, a PV panel with water cooling is integrated with an underground heat storage. This allows to cool the PV panels during the day and heats them above the dew point temperature during the night. A mathematical model was developed and applied to two locations. The proposed system reduces the diurnal PV temperature by about 10 K and keeps the nocturnal temperature above the dew point by 2-5 K. This results in a 10 % performance improvement.
