This dataset contains the information extracted from 100 selected studies from 28 different countries, spanning 1979-2021, on the impacts of tree insect pests and pathogens in urban settings. We extracted data on study locations, time frames, tree insect pests, tree pathogens, and tree species. Identified impacts were conceptualised into a three part framework: (1) environmental impacts, including tree mortality and damage, defoliation, and wilting; (2) social impacts, including on aesthetics, health, and safety; and (3) economic impacts, including on costs of pest management, economic losses, and structural damage. We also extracted relevant suggestions for policy, practice and future research.
