The two Chemokines CXCL9 and CXCL10 exert two essential features: the chemotaxis of tumour-supressive immune cells into malignancies, as well as angiostatic effects, which impair tumour growth and metastasis. Using three different ovarian cancer cell lines, mechanisms, that lead to chemokine release from tumour cells, were investigated, just as the possibility of pharmacological influence. Indomethacin increased the chemokine release in the applied in vitro model. COX inhibition by indomethacin, may be a promising approach to concomitantly improve immunotherapies in ovarian cancer.
