The object of this dissertation was the optimization of the HVSPS (Highly Versatile Single Port System) platform. The interdisciplinary development was led by engineers and physicians respectively. The optimization was performed using a methodology of iterative loops, which allowed identifying benefits and limitations of the platform. A continuous optimization was achieved through result driven iterations. To enhance feasibility and further optimize performance, the procedure of sigmoid resections was adjusted to better incorporate the HVSPS platform (“Surgineering“).
