Hintergrund: Das Ziel heutiger Kataraktoperationen ist sowohl die Verbesserung des Sehens als auch maximale postoperative Brillenfreiheit. Bei traditioneller Monovision mit Kontaktlinsen wird ein Auge für die Ferne und das andere Auge für die Nähe korrigiert. Ob Monovision eine gute Option in der Kataraktchirurgie ist wird untersucht. Ziel: Beurteilung der Qualität des Sehens mit Monovision sowie subjektiver Erfolg und Zufriedenheit der Patienten nach beidseitiger Phakoemulsifikation. Matherial und Methoden: Prospektive observationale Studie von 09/2009 bis 12/2010 in der "Chiemsee Augentagesklinik". Ergebnisse und Diskussion: Die Ergebnisse unserer Studie zeigen, dass die milde Monovision (induzierte Anisometropie von -1,0 bis -1,5) nach ausführlicher Aufklärung und Patientenselektion eine gute Möglichkeit darstellt, eine weitgehende Brillenunabhängigkeit nach beidseitiger Phakoemulsifikation zu erreichen.      «

Background: The aim of today's cataract surgery, both the improvement of vision and maximum postoperative spectacle freedom. With traditional monovision with contact lenses, one eye is corrected for distance vision and the other one for near vision. Whether monovision a good option in cataract surgery is being investigated. Purpose: Evaluate the quality of vision with monovision and subjective success and patient satisfaction after bilateral phacoemulsification. Methods: Prospective observational study from 09/2009 to 12/2010 in the "Chiemsee Augentagesklinik". Results and Discussion: The results of our study is that the mild monovision (induced anisometropia from -1.0 to -1.5) after extensive reconnaissance and selection of patients is a good way to achieve a high degree of spectacle independence after bilateral phacoemulsification.      «
