- The data has been collected and processed based on published reports and datasets of responsible PTAs in Germany combined with own research and cross-checks with the European tender database (TED https://ted.europa.eu). The summarised dataset has been extended by traction and re-winning of tenders based on own research.

- The dataset contains different tables regarding the tendering of regional rail services in Germany in the period of 1998 to 2028. The main dataset is composed of all tenderes executed by Public Transport Authorities (PTAs) via tendering procedures (no direct awards) characterised by their volume, timeframe, lines included, electrification and awarded railway undertaking.
