Radioresistance in pancreatic cancer patients remains a critical obstacle to overcome. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying radioresistance and targeting the respective signaling pathways may lead to a better response to radiotherapy and thus to a better treatment outcome. In this thesis, two radioresistant pancreatic cancer cell lines were generated by fractionated radiation, and the cell lines were investigated in vitro and in vivo. This study provides new insights into the radioresistance of pancreatic cancer and identifies potential biomarkers and treatment targets for personalized therapy.
