- In der vorliegenden Promotionsarbeit wurden Methoden des HPV-Nachweises evaluiert. Zudem wurde der Einfluss einer HPV-Infektion, des HPV-assoziierten Surrogatmarkers p16INK4a und des Tumorstammzellmarkers ALDH1 beim oralen Plattenpithelkarzinom untersucht. Es konnte gezeigt werden, dass der alleinige Nachweis von p16INK4a für eine HPV-Infektion nicht ausreichend ist und dass eine HPV-Infektion keinen Einfluss auf das Überleben beim oralen Plattenepithelkarzinom hat.

- In this thesis, several methods of HPV detection were evaluated. In addition, the influence of an HPV infection, the HPV-associated surrogate marker p16INK4a and the cancer stem cell marker ALDH1 were investigated in oral squamous cell carcinoma. It could be shown, that the detection of p16INK4a is not sufficient for the proof of an HPV infection and that an HPV infection has no influence on the survival rates in oral squamous cell carcinoma.
