Endometrial tissue samples were collected on days 12 and 14 of pregnancy and subjected to transcriptome analysis by the use of Illumina RNA-Seq to investigate the processes in the endometrium during early pregnancy at the level of gene expression. Furthermore, the obtained RNA-Seq data sets were compared with a published microarray data set. For further characterization, different bioinformatic tools (GSEA, DAVID) were used. The expression of selected genes was validated by the use of quantitative real-time RT-PCR. Overall, the data analysis revealed a comprehensive picture of transcriptome changes in porcine endometrium during early pregnancy.
