In dieser retrospektiven Studie wurde an einem Kollektiv nodal-negativer colorectaler Carcinome die prognostischen Bedeutung von Thymidylat Synthase, Thymidin Phosphorylase und Dihydropyrimidin Dehydrogenase untersucht. Das Kollektiv umfasste 97 Patienten der UICC-Stadien I und II, die ausschließlich operiert worden waren. Die Expression der drei Proteine wurden mittels semiquantitativer Immunhistochemie quantifiziert und zu den klinischen Parametern (I) Tumorstadium, (II) Rezidiv, (III) krankheitsspezifische Überlebensrate und (IV) Gesamtüberlebensrate korreliert. Die Ergebnisse weisen darauf hin, dass Thymidylat Synthase, Thymidin Phosphorylase und Dihydropyrimidin Dehydrogenase prognostisch unabhängige Parameter bezüglich tumorbedingtem Tod, Rezidiv bzw. rezidivfreiem Überleben sind.     «

This retrospective study analysed the prognostic impact of thymidylate synthase, thymidine phosphorylase and dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase on nodal-negative colorectal cancer. Expression of these proteins was determined by semiquantitative Immunohistochemistry. 97 patients of UICC-stage I and II who underwent primary surgery without additional therapy were included. Protein expression were correlated to (I) tumor stage, (II) tumor recurrence, (III) disease free survival and (IV) overall survival. The results indicate that thymidylate synthase, thymidine phosphorylase und dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase are prognostically independant parameters concerning, disease specific survival, recurrence and recurrence free survival.     «
