In this retrospective study 607 ERCP´s were analysed with regard to complications at the hospital Barmherzige Brüder Munich. There was a positive correlation between the duration of examination and the applied amount of propofol. Using logistic regression we could show that the indication for intubation significantly depended on the BMI as well as on the amount of propofol. Furthermore significant correlation was detectable between temperature rise on the one hand and lithotripsies, haemostasis as well as insertion of biliary tubes on the other hand. Pain occured according to papillotomies, insertion of biliary tubes and fever. The post-ERCP bleeding depended on the individual examinator. Finally, complication rates due to interventions, like bleeding (2,7%), perforation (0,66%) and lethality (0,5%) are consistent with published data.
