Run-off causes the entry of plant protection products, turbid substances, and other substances into surface water. The effect of the herbicide Terbuthylazin on aquatic ecosystems is known. In this study the unknown influence of turbidity was simulated by the inert kaolin. In the first year of this study artificial aquatic outdoor microcosms were made turbid for different long times. Physical, chemical, and biological parameters showed no significant effect even at a 50 day long turbidity. In the second year the microcosms were treated with the herbicide Terbuthylazin additionally to the 50 day lasting turbidity. The results were compared with other studies that only analyzed Terbuthylazin. The result of this study is, that turbidity has no influence on the effect of Terbuthylazin.
