Ziel der Arbeit war darzustellen, ob es aus Sicht praktizierender Psychiater Differentialindikationen für die verschiedenen Antipsychotika in der medikamentösen Behandlung schizophrener Patienten gibt. Hierzu wurden 50 niedergelassene Psychiater und 50 Klinik-Ärzte aus dem Großraum München zu Patienten mit der Diagnose Schizophrenie, bei denen sie selbst die antipsychotische Medikation ausgewählt hatten, befragt. Zusammenfassend kann gesagt werden, dass die Auswahl der antipsychotischen Medikation von überraschend vielen Komponenten beeinflusst wird und sich nur wenige Hinweise gefunden haben, dass es eine einheitliche Haltung der Ärzte hinsichtlich einer Differentialindikation für die verschiedenen Antipsychotika gibt. Vielmehr spielen individuelle Faktoren auf Seiten der Ärzte (z.B. Alter) eine dominierende Rolle.      «

The aim of this study was to investigate whether there are differential indications for different antipsychotics from the psychiatrists’ view. Therefore 50 psychiatrics working in private practice and 50 psychiatrics working in psychiatric hospitals in the greater area of Munich were surveyed about their drug choice for patients suffering from schizophrenia. It can be concluded that the choice of antipsychotic medication is influenced by many factors. There are only a few hints for uniform attitudes of the psychiatrics concerning the differential indications of the different antipsychotics. In fact drug choice is more influenced by individual physician factors such as age.      «
