Components can be transported to assembly stations in different ways. This thesis improves the delivery of components by solving three problems: reducing congestion problems when delivering components with vehicles, providing a classification decision tree that explains the assignment of different line feeding modes for each delivered component, and combining line feeding and assembly line balancing decisions of which tasks are performed at the different assembly stations and the kind of modes that are used for the delivery of components to stations.
