This dissertation examines blockchain-based innovations in the financial industry. The first essay provides a systematic literature review of Decentralized Finance (DeFi). The remaining essays analyze participants in the DeFi and broader crypto ecosystem. In doing so, two opposing interest groups become transparent. The first focuses on short-term speculation. This includes influencers who use emotional contagious videos to give false market price predictions to a broad mass of viewers. The second focuses on using DeFi for environmental and social sustainability.     «

Diese Dissertation untersucht blockchain-basierte Innovationen in der Finanzindustrie. Der erste Aufsatz bietet eine systematische Literaturübersicht zu dezentralen Finanzdienstleistungen (DeFi). Die weiteren Aufsätze analysieren Teilnehmer im DeFi- und breiteren Krypto-Ökosystem. Dabei werden zwei gegenläufige Interessensvertretungen transparent. Die erste fokussiert sich auf kurzfristige Spekulationen. Dazu gehören Influencer, die mit emotionsübertragenden Videos falsche Marktprognosen an eine breite Zuschauermasse geben. Die zweite fokussiert sich darauf, DeFi für ökologische und soziale Nachhaltigkeit zu nutzen.     «
