- Abstract:
- Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist eine Übersicht über die klinischen und ophthalmologischen Charakteristika der okulären Syphilis (OS) an einer deutschen Universitätsklinik zu geben. Die Inzidenz der OS in der beobachteten Kohorte war hoch, sie präsentierte sich vorwiegend als Uveitis und ging häufig mit einer Beteiligung des zentralen Nervensystems einher. Diese Arbeit verdeutlicht, dass die OS eine relevante Manifestation der Syphilis sein kann.
- Translated abstract:
- The aim of this study is to investigate the clinical and ophthalmological characteristics of ocular syphilis (OS) at a German university hospital. A high incidence of OS was identified in the studied cohort, and uveitis was the most common manifestation of OS. OS was often associated with involvement of the central nervous system. This study highlights OS as an important manifestation of syphilis.
