Abstract:

In the present study data on the bowel habits of 357 children aged 3 to 18 years were recorded and evaluated with different scores compared to the data of patients with anorectal malformations.
The aim was to find out at what age healthy children will gain control of their bowels and what abnormalities are common in stool behavior.
The study participants performed better than patients with anorectal malformations. However, they also often had problems and could not be considered as continent in all scores.
