- Nach Marathon tritt erhöhtes kardiales Troponin (cTn) auf. Wir untersuchten das cTn von 162 Probanden nach Marathon. Läufer mit prolongiert erhöhtem cTn (pecTn) und eine Kontrollgrupe erhielten eine bzw. bei positivem Ergebnis im Intervall eine zweite kardiale MRT (CMR) zur Late Gadolinium Enhancement-Detektion (LGE). - Cardiac troponin (cTn) is elevated after marathon. We examined cTn of 162 runners after marathon. Runners with prolonged elevated cTn (pecTn) and a control group were examined with CMR to detect late gadolinium enhancement (LGE). In case of detectable LGE a second CMR was performed three months post race. Significant associations of the LGE with the cTn values 24 and 72 h post race were measured. PecTn after Marathon (cut-off value: ≥ 24 ng·L-1) are suspicious to represent myocardial damage.
